Biography

 

        A second generation stuntman from a family of athletes, Michael Hugghins had an early start developing skills that would translate to a prolific career in the stunt industry. He was active in gymnastics, football, baseball, riding motorcycles, and started training on stunt equipment at the age of 14. After moving from Texas to Los Angeles at the age of 20, he started working with his uncle and mentor David Hugghins, who is a successful stuntman, rigging coordinator, and the owner of State 1 Stunts rigging gear. Having earned the reputation of a well qualified and hard working stuntman, Michael won two World Taurus Stunt Awards and has been nominated for seven SAG awards. 

          Michael has matured and progressed in his career becoming a top stunt rigging coordinator on large budget shows such as Bad Boys For Life, The Hunger Games series, and Spider-Man: Homecoming. His demonstrated success was proven once again as a stunt rigging coordinator with a third Taurus World Stunt Award for Captain America: Civil War. 

          Michael’s next project was as 2nd unit Stunt Coordinator for Avengers: Endgame. This was not his first taste of Coordination as he has covered set, Feature Films, TV shows, commercials, and music videos before. While he still continues to work on large budget projects, his desire is to be the team leader, helping productions both design and execute one-of-a-kind stunts for all kinds of media. 

          Michael has had the opportunity to work with many household names in the industry including Clint Eastwood, Joe & Anthony Russo, Chris Pratt, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Lawrence, Tom Holland, Channing Tatum, Jason Mamoa, and many more. He has helped collaborate and execute some of the largest scale stunts in cinematic history. He is a valuable asset to any production as an all-around stuntman, stunt rigging coordinator, and stunt coordinator.
